Junior AO!/Parent Youth Adventure Weekend

Jr. AO! is a time for parents and their children to enjoy God's beautiful creation and build great memories with one another. It is also a time to be away from the busy schedules and to hear from God in the classroom of the outdoors. Outdoor challenge is the main tool as we seek to draw parent and child closer to each other and closer to God.

The Adventure Weekend is held at the Officer's Christian Fellowship's camp in White Sulphur Springs, PA. It's a little rougher than being at home, but only a little. We sleep in screened-in bunk cabins and use portable toilets. There are outdoor sinks but indoor showers (hot water in non-heated stalls).

Who is it for?
Well, it's for all kids ages 9 (by the end of 2010) to 12 and you need to be accompanied by a parent.

CHOOSE BETWEEN....

We offer two distinct Parent-Youth Adventure weekends ... our traditional outdoor challenge events, or our overnight canoe trip on a local river.
1. Canoe Trip Adventure
one night at AO! village and one night on an overnight canoe trip along the river. Offered April 30 - May 2, 2010 and September 17-19, 2010.
2. Challenge Adventure
two nights at AO! village, along with outdoor parent-child challenges including hiking, rappelling, and fun and games. Offered April 23-25, 2010 and September 10-12, 2010.

We have 4 weekends for you.
April 23-25 (Challenge Adventure)
April 30 - May 2 (Canoe Trip Adventure)
Sept 10-12 (Challenge Adventure)
Sept 17-19 (Canoe Trip Adventure)
Arrive between 5:00 and 5:45 PM on Friday and leave at 2:00 PM on Sunday.
Price
$125 Parent/Child Combo for all expenses (meals included).
Note : We require one adult per child per weekend. To accommodate two youngsters, the same adult coming on successive weekends only pays once. (e.g. Total price: $175.) Please contact us if you have any questions! Send registration with a $50 check made payable to OCF.

What to pack:
Warm layered clothing, warm hat, warm sleeping bag, Bible, poncho or raincoat, pen or pencils, flashlight and batteries, towel and toiletries, outdoor shoes or boots, tennis shoes, small pack or book bag, pillow. Optional: Camera, bug spray. MOST OF ALL, DRESS WARMLY
