What Does R&R Mean To You?

Rest & Relaxation? Maybe Reflection & Renewal. Or Re-energize & Reinvigorate.

There is no vacation like 2017’s Summer R&R at White Sulphur Springs. We understand that singles, young couples, and families come through the Heritage House doors with unique definitions of what vacation means to them. White Sulphur Springs is tailoring its summer program to allow guests the opportunity to experience God’s rest in a variety of exciting ways. From adventuring through whitewater rafting, climbing, and horseback riding to a more relaxing approach such as a trip to a day spa and special pampering throughout the retreat week, you can plan your R&R around what you and your family love to do.

Join us for R&R, and put Christ in the middle of your summer.

A Typical Day

Each day of Summer R&R is unique and filled with many activities that are not only fun, but also designed to bring you closer to God.

Check-in begins on the Friday of each session at 1600 followed by an opening dinner at 1800. The week concludes on the following Friday with breakfast and check-out at 1000. The R&R session is designed to be a week-long experience with teaching sessions building on themselves. Stays shorter than a week are possible to accommodate your family’s schedule. Please select the individual days during your registration process.

The Summer R&R program is flexible and allows you to do as much or as little as you want.  You can take advantage of everything that is offered…or nothing and just enjoy the beauty of this place, quiet time with the Lord or reconnecting time with your spouse and kids.  Our speakers provide biblically centered teaching with discussion, and we build in times for worship and fellowship with other believers. We also schedule activities in the afternoons that create opportunities for fun with family and others.  There is enough variety in the activities available at WSS and the surrounding area that you can have an amazing vacation experience here—whether you are looking just to rest and relax or you want to be adventurous and get re-invigorated and re-energized.  If you’ve got kids, they’re going to love it here!  The kids programming is dynamic and engaging and we find that kids of all ages truly enjoy the freedom the experience here of a safe place to run and explore and meet new friends.  Below is a brief outline of how we structure a day of R&R so you can see how you would spend a week here with us.

0730: Morning devotional time (optional)

0830: A delicious, home-cooked breakfast

0955: Teen and children’s programs until 1215

1000: Adult individual or couple’s quiet time

1100: Morning group discussion time (Note: on Monday’s we have a scavenger hunt in lieu of the morning discussion time)

1230: Enjoy a great lunch and salad bar

* 1330: Afternoons are either free time, family time, or a planned activity.  Example activities include: hiking, swimming, horseback riding, the climbing wall and zip-line, sports and games

1730: Come together for a delicious dinner (Note: some evenings we have fun with a theme such as international and western night)

1930: Evening session with guest speaker, plus teen and children’s programs

2030: Evening snacks, fellowship and fun
