Healthy marriages don’t happen by accident—they are the result of commitment and deliberate efforts to keep the relationship centered on Christ and growing closer together. Join us 15-18 February (Presidents’ Day weekend) and put some deliberate effort into strengthening your marriage. The Valentine’s Weekend Getaway at WSS is a perfect way to quiet the noise of all the “other-things” and allow the beauty and peace of WSS to help you refocus on the Lord and each other.

We’ve thought of everything to make this a truly wonderful weekend…not only for the 2 of you, but for the whole family! In addition to dynamic speaker sessions for the adults, our staff will provide a full children’s program from nursery through high school so that your kids will be having the times of their lives while you’re enjoying a romantic and purposeful time of growth and reflection in your marriage. We pull out all the stops with a truly amazing Valentine’s date night banquet—where the WSS kitchen goes 5-star (the kids will be enjoying pizza and a movie night while the adults enjoy this one-of-a-kind banquet at WSS). We’ve got a ton of fun activities planned for the free time—to include skiing at local slopes (lift tickets at your cost), ice skating and sledding at WSS, horse rides and climbing on our brand new high ropes course…and you’ll be laughing until you cry during the “WSS Newlywed Game.”

This is the forth year we’ve hosted this event and it has grown in popularity each year. Don’t miss this incredible time to strengthen your marriage while simultaneously enjoying a family-friendly get-away at beautiful WSS. Please join us!

Our Topic: “A High Calling”

Marriage is integral to the creation story, indeed to the entire Bible story. Man was created first and woman was created from the man’s side and every man since has come from woman. These unique persons share one human essence and their gender-specific, Christ-like roles in marriage are meant to glorify God as they move toward oneness. As the two become one, our marriages reflect the oneness of Christ and His bride and the oneness of our Trinitarian God. Marriage has a high purpose and is most certainly a high calling.

Chet and Michelle Arnold

Our guest speakers

Col Chester “Chet” and Mrs. Michelle Arnold, Jr. USMC (Ret) – Michelle and I met the day after my commissioning as a 2ndLt in the Marines. Six months later we were married. Two years later our first child was born and that same month I earned Naval Aviation wings and we headed off to the Fleet Marine Force. About 6 years into our adventure together, God used the circumstances of life, His people and His Word to bring us to repentance. He then graciously brought into our life a couple from the Navigators who poured themselves out for a year of focused discipleship.

In November 2008 we transitioned to civilian life with three biological children, four adopted children and numerous foster children gracing our home. In July 2014 we reported for duty in Pensacola FL for a second time now in full-time service with Officers’ Christian Fellowship. Our years of experience in the Marines and Naval Aviation is put to good use as we serve Christ teaching and mentoring the young officers attending Naval Flight training.
